Aaron Walker

Height: 6-6

Weight: 252

Position: TE

College: Florida

Drafted: Pick 26 of the 5th round by San Francisco
Analysis
Positives: Tall, lean with a solid build...Has the short area quickness and leg drive to escape the jam...Can release off the line with his strength...Smooth and athletic for a player his size...Has a good short burst, especially seen on crossing and out patterns... Looks natural catching the ball, extending his arms away from the framework...Has the leaping ability to take the ball away at its highest point, looking comfortable making the grab with defenders on him...Drives hard with his legs after the catch, doing a nice job of getting upfield...Shuffles his feet and delivers good hand punch and arm extension to wall off the defenders in pass protection...Very good at tracking the ball and making the catches over his shoulder.
Negatives: Needs to improve his awareness working in the zone, as he generally sits next to the linebacker...Not used much in motion...Smooth and athletic in his routes, but does get a little sloppy (rounds his cuts) late in the game...Loses leverage on inside power moves...While fast, he needs to gather himself before accelerating...Despite his good strength, it does not translate on the field as he lacks a strong base when facing up to defenders.
