Ken Dorsey

Height: 6-5

Weight: 208

Position: QB

College: Miami (Fla.)

Drafted: Pick 27 of the 7th round by San Francisco
Analysis
Positives: Dropback passer with good arm strength...Sets up quickly to see the field and looks very comfortable with his follow-through...Rarely forces the ball and gets rid of the pigskin with a smooth motion...Can makes the short and deep throws...Puts good zip behind his attempts, displaying a tight spiral...Knows how to take something off the ball to make the easy toss and shows great confidence in his touch...Takes his time spotting his targets and never is rattled by pressure...Displays great presence in the huddle...While he is mostly a dropback passer, he does have the agility to roll out of the pocket and throw on the run...Knows how to look defenses off to spot his secondary targets.
Negatives: Has a tall, thin, almost frail frame and needs to add more bulk...Not that elusive in the pocket...Had adequate arm strength and can throw long, but is more effective in the intermediate passing area...Will overthrow at times when flushed out of the pocket...Throws a tight spiral in the short area, but his long ball tends to flutter a bit... Seems to have difficulties eluding when defenders generate a fierce pass rush...Fair weather passer (most quarterbacks are) who seems to struggle when playing in poor weather (see 2001 Boston College game).
