NOMADS COACHES

The BELL FAMILY

FOUNDING MEMBERS

Bev and Dave Bell have been involved in Field Hockey for over 25 years. Both played in their native South Africa, starting in their early elementary school years, and continuing to play at the College and Provincial levels. Both have been involved in the selection, coaching and administration of field hockey at the Club, Provincial and National levels, and Bev was selected to the South African National Schoolgirls Hockey Association, where she spent three years as a committee member for hockey development, as a selector of the U/18 National girls team, and as a manager/coach for the National U/16 B girls team. Dave has umpired at the school, club, and provincial levels and was awarded a national outdoor umpire grading. Since arriving in the USA in 1997, the Bell family (including Brad and Meagan) has continued to be involved in administering, coaching and umpiring field hockey. In 2002 the family decided that it was time to start a club in Western Mass. The purpose of the club was to advance hockey development, and to continue to improve the level of competitive schoolgirls’ field hockey in the region. This has been their weekend passion ever since! Their son Brad is a graded indoor and outdoor umpire and their daughter, Meagan, has been an administrator for the Nomads club and an avid supporter of all the players and Nomads Teams.
