Topic-026: Manner of Articulation

In order to classify a speech sound, one of the most important things that we need to know is what sort of obstruction it makes to the flow of air a vowel makes very little obstruction, while a plosive consonant makes complete obstruction. The type of obstruction is known as the manner of articulation. There are several basic ways to pronounce a consonant sound which are based on the configuration and interaction of the articulators involved.
