APOLOGETICS IV. Worldviews One’s worldview is one’s perspective on everything. It is one’s philosophy and understanding. One’s view of God dramatically shapes one’s worldview. Those with anti-Christian worldviews may attack the Christian faith. In order to defend our faith, it is important that we understand other people’s views of God. Norman Geisler and William Watkins state that each person holds one of seven major views towards God. Of course, there are variations on these views Each view is mutually exclusive the central tenets of each view conflict with the central tenets of the other views. So a person can logically hold only one of the views. The seven views are theism, atheism, pantheism, finite godism, panentheism, deism, and polytheism. 1
