Subject: InterMoor - Interview Opportunity - New Grads
Dr. Lowery,
Good morning! I was given your contact info from Dr. Randall in the Ocean Engineering department.
Our company is conducting interviews next week in College Station (off-campus) as we have for many years now. While we will be interviewing seniors from the OE department for full-time positions, we also currently have an opening in our structural department within our company. We’d like to extend an invitation for a few of your CE seniors (structural background) who will be graduating Dec ’12 or May ’13 as it looks like we will have a few time slots open for interviews next Wednesday, October 10th. Attached you will find a flyer which provides additional details on how the seniors can arrange the interview appointment. Please feel free to post this flyer within your department, announce to your senior classes, or pass along to any seniors who you think might be interested.
I appreciate your assistance and look forward to sitting down with a few of your seniors next week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Curt Haveman ‘06

Subject: Brazos County Part-Time Position
Dr. Lowery:
I had hoped to have visited with you in person on this matter. I still hope to do so, as my time allows. I would like to make you aware that Brazos County recently advertised for a part-time employee in our Road and Bridge Department.
I have attached the job description and a link to the advertisement which is posted on the County Website:
https://tx-brazoscounty.civicplus.com/Jobs.aspx?UniqueId=98&From=All&CommunityJobs=False&JobID=Engineering-tech-48
The application form is also at https://tx-brazoscounty.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/Home/View/797
It can be emailed from the form itself, or to me directly at RAMunger@brazoscountytx.gov. Qualified applicants only, please.
The perfect candidate would be at least a Senior level student who has previous intern experience in land development or with Capital Improvement work. A large portion of their work will be involved with reviewing plat and construction plan submittals, checking/verifying drainage reports and perhaps some field inspection work involved with acceptance of roadways in land developments.
I have 900 hours budgeted for the fiscal year (10/1/12 to 9/30/13). Salary and work hours would be somewhat negotiable. Our work week is Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM and the candidate’s hours would need to fall within that timeframe. The candidates will need to fill out the County Application as a minimum – and a resume would certainly be helpful (to the candidate and to me). The position is open until filled.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

All,
I am one of your former students asking a favor – our company is looking for a Co-Op student for the January-August timeframe. Do you have anyone you can recommend who possesses a strong background in structural dynamics (or a strong desire to learn)?
The work we typically do involves non-linear analysis, design, and experimental work (blast testing of structural and non-structural components). The experimental work we do involves both performance testing and research for a variety of commercial, industrial, and government clients. The student would be involved with both office and lab work, depending on their desires and our needs.
If you know or can recommend any interested students – have them send me their resume.
Thanks! We appreciate your help, and hope you are all doing well.
