Patent Office Action COPYRIGHTS Copyrights are similar to Patents in establishing ownership and protection for creative endeavour but they pertain to intellectual property. It gives
protection rights to writers, artists and composers. A copyright is distinct from patents and trademarks in that intellectual property is protected for the life of the originator plus 50 years. An application fora copyright is made after intellectual property is published but it is made available to the public.
