To a Lt Col Curtis, 8th Regt Singapore" with arrival cds of "JUL 11 69", then endorsed "Dead" & readdressed to England, with b/s of Singapore, Hereford & Ledbury. SG Z79 unlisted on this plate number. With research notes showing the dates & ships this cover was carried on. Significant postal history rarity for the GB, Malta or Singapore specialist. 2877 1885 cover from GIBRALTAR franked Great Britain 1881 QV 1d lilac tied by "Gibraltar 29 Dec 85" A26 duplex, to a sailor on HMS Diamond at Sydney, NSW & redirected to a local hospital, charged for postage due, being under-franked for mail to Australia, but being recognised as a concessionary rate cover the manuscript "10 cts" & "T" handstamp deleted, the latter by worn "A26" pmk, the reverse with Port Said (12.1), Suez (12.) & Sydney (16.2) cds. Few small imperfections though a rare example of the inward concessionary rate to a serviceman, a most unusual destination & a very late use of GB stamps which discontinued at Gibraltar just two days later.
