6327 c1788-1850 Convict or Military Token of Colonial Times (date unknown but could be any time from 1788-1850). 32mm. 18.58g, copper, plain edge impressed with broad arrow, '431' & 'DH'. Found by the uncle of Major General G.L. Maitland in the late 1930s on the sight of an old market garden at Taren Point. Dave Allen purchased this from General Maitland in the early 1980's upon the recommendation of the late (& great) Major Pat Boland. VF, uncertain usage, but probably of major significance & a rarity. 6408 Northern Territory: K. Richard, Gillard & Company, Emungalan, North Australia c1920 One Pound No. 116 company note or "Shinplaster". Emungalan was a town once situated 5km north of Katherine, Northern Territory. It served as the terminus of the "Northern Territory Railway" until 1928. With the completion of a new bridge, a shift took place to the new town site of Katherine. By 1927 the town was deserted with all the railway facilities dismantled & re-erected 100km away at Mataranka. This is only the 3rd note to appear at auction. Practically UNC & Rare.
