analogy as a similarity in some respects between things that are otherwise dissimilar In each of the questions
contained in this section, you will find a pair of related words. These words are separated by a colon, like this:
fish : scales
Read that to yourself as if the colon were the words is to”—“fish
is to scales Then, as you read
through the possible answers, add as to the beginning of each answer—“fish is to scales
as horse is to barn and so forth.
Look at those words and try to figure out how they are connected to one another. For example, what is the
connection between the words fish and

feathers. The similarity between these two unrelated pairs of words is an analogy. The best way to approach an analogy question is to makeup a sentence that describes the relationship between the first two words and find another pair in the choices that would fit into that same sentence. A fish
