Follow these steps:

  1. Shake the container and empty it onto the table top.

  2. Assume that any atom showing a one (1) is Carolinium, the daughter product of Statium. Remove the daughter isotopes, count them, and record them on the Decay Curve Date Sheet on the next page of this handout. Also, record the number of remaining parent isotopes on the sheet.

  3. Return the parent Statium isotopes to the container, shake, and empty onto the table again. Remove and record the number of Carolinium isotopes (dice showing 1). Record the number of remaining parent isotopes as well.

  4. Repeat this process for 20 rolls or until there are no dice remaining in the container. Be sure to record the number of daughter and parent atoms remaining after each episode of shaking.
