Selection Criteria

Q1. We want to understand the level and depth of your expertise in the technologies we use at Youth+ and gain a rounded picture on your abilities. We value experience as much as certifications or degrees.


For “Level of Expertise” note the following criteria:

  1. No experience

  2. No experienced but used a similar product (add row to this table to indicate your expertise in a similar product)

  3. Base level – have installed once or twice, using standard/default configurations, and undertaken simple troubleshooting

  4. Intermediate – as for base level, but have configured non-standard installations and undertaken more complex troubleshooting

  5. Expert – as for Intermediate but in depth understanding of the working of the product and capable of working under pressure to reinstate a failed product from scratch

For “Train staff to base level” – if you feel you have knowledge and familiarity with a product to enable you to direct staff in a one-on-one situation to install and configure a product to base level standard indicate Y in this column.

Essential Criteria


  • Support for the ethos of the Edmund Rice Education Australia Charter

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with minimal supervision

  • Strong knowledge and skills in the day to day running and problem solving of issues in complex network, communication and information system infrastructure

  • Technical skills with installing and maintaining servers/desktop operating systems/applications

  • Scripting ability e.g. powershell, batch, vbscript

  • Ability to write quality IT support documentation

  • Australian Driving Licence

None Essential Criteria


  • Experienced working for an IT Service in an educational environment

  • Computer science, engineering or equivalent degree / professional certification

  • Experience in documenting processes

  • Knowledge of ITIL methodology

  • Programming ability – C#/VB
