Seminar on “ICT Development in Bangladesh: Opportunities & Challenges”
                   A Seminar on “ICT Development in Bangladesh: Opportunities & Challenges” is being organized on 24th August 2013 at CIRDAP Auditorium. The seminar is a result of joint efforts of the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) and the High Commission of India to focus on how to accelerate the development of the ICT Sector of Bangladesh. H.E Mr. Mostafa Faruque Mohammed, MP, Minister of ICT of Bangladesh will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural session. Mr. Pankaj Saran, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh will be the Guest of Honor on the occasion. Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, Secretary, Ministry of ICT, and Dr. Cecep Effendi, Director General, CIRDAP have consented to be the Special Guests. Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, CII Eastern Region, ICTE Sub-Committee and Managing Director, Descon Ltd will lead the 15-member CII delegation to participate in the seminar. Both CII and CIRDAP are also partners in the initiative.
                   The Seminar will cover various areas of cooperation including opportunities of cooperation in Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO), Software Development and Testing, Training and Skill development.  This is the first time that coordinated efforts are being made by the stakeholders aimed at bringing together the premier IT Sector Institutions of India and Bangladesh on a platform where they can share their experiences of successes and challenges. The outcome of the seminar is expected to give concrete ideas as to how ICT can catalyze greater economic development and income generation in Bangladesh by increasing investment flow and diversification of the export basket.
