After the engine is turned off, the system instantly and continuously scans the interior cabin/cargo and trunk space for exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2). It uses multiple sensors located throughout the cabin space and can sense humans or animals left behind. The system also has the ability to restart the engine, unlock doors, and open the trunk for emergency responders.
