NOTE 1: Identifies launch abort site (LAS) role: return to landing site (RTLS), east coast abort landing site (ECAL), down range LAS (DRLAS), transoceanic abort landing site (TAL), and Post MECO TAL (PTAL) (see definitions in operations section, C pages).

NOTE 2: Underburn (U/B) sites may be used for flawed approaches to Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Edwards AFB (EDW) or White Sands Space Harbor (WSSH).

NOTE 3: Provides augmented DOD/NASA support for EOM, AOA, and PLS.

NOTE 4: Provides augmented DOD/NASA support for launch only.

NOTE 5: Used by exception for 57^o inclination missions, through coordination with US State Department and the Government of Iceland.

NOTE 6: Supports launch only

NOTE 7: Sites are not included in the orbiter on-board landing site table.

NOTE 8: Requires Argentina government approval (not currently approved).
