2017 Week Program (June 8 – July 24) All Day from 9 AM – 3 PM

The Preschool Adventures is a full day summer program gears toward 3 - 4 year old.  The program combines a mix of fun and educational classroom activities and outdoor adventures that engages students in the environment around them.  To ensure that students build meaningful relationships with the teacher and with each other, participants must register for the full seven weeks. Half day option is available.

The Kindergartener in Training are for five year olds who are entering preschool in the Fall. Similar to the preschool program, students will engage in educational classroom activities and outdoor adventures that engages students in the environment around them.  To ensure that students build meaningful relationships with the teacher and with each other, participants must register for the full seven weeks. Half day option is available.

Primary Academy for first and second graders will feature a balance of fun and recreational activities with educational and challenging programs. The weekly schedule will include lessons in math and science along with the arts and sports. Students will enjoy both camp like activities and classroom lessons. Educational field trips will take place on Fridays which may include additional costs.

Session I – 3 Weeks from June 8 – June 26

Music and Myths (3rd & 4th Grader)

Introduction to Strings
Students learn the rudimentary skills of violin performance including but not limited to: pizzicato, proper bow technique, note reading and basic music theory. (Students must rent/ own string instrument to participate)

Greek Mythology Galore!

Students will learn about one of the oldest forms of literature: Greek Mythology! Students will read stories that tell of powerful figures such as Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena, and Artemis. We will listen to stories, read lots of books, draw pictures, and act out some of the myths.



Digital Journalism and Fitness (7th & 8th Grader)

Digital Journalism
Students will explore the fast-paced world of reporting the news in writing. Students will brainstorm article ideas, learn the art of interviewing/research, and write news/feature articles. They will also discover the different skills and styles required to write for the digital media. Students will also create a final product via website of their news reports for public access.

Digital Fitness
Students will engage and explore fitness activities and exercise through the use of electronic programs like video games and digital devices like pedometers.

Poetry and Musical Play (5th & 6th Grade)

Inspirational Poetry
Students will read and write various types of poetry: lyrical, narrative, prose, acrostic, ballad, cinquain, diamante, limerick, couplets, triplets, and quatrains. We will be using nature, music, and photographs as inspiration for our poetry. Authors include Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, Nikki Giovanni, Walt Whitman, Ernest Hemingway, Robert Louis Stevenson, Edgar Allan Poe, and many others.

Let Us Play!
The Concert Orchestra students will tour the community to highlight student talent. A minimum of 1 year experience on your instrument is required.

Filmmaking (7th & 8th Grader)

Students will learn how to write, produce and create a short film



Science and Technology Institute

3rd & 4th Grade



  • Animation and Game design with Scratch        
    Create stories, games, and animations/ Share with others around the world

  • Science in Action (Introductory Level)

The Science in Action curriculum consists of three weeks of exciting adventures.

1. Explore the science lab through lab demonstration.

2. Learn the “Scientific Method” through inquiry and experiments.

3. Design and create boats, towers and more through various engineering projects


5th & 6th Grade

  • Lego Robotics

This summer program is an introduction to robotics using the LEGO Minstorm EV3 System.   Learn how to build and program EV3 robots for a competition.  This is perfect preparation for competing in the FIRST LEGO league competition in the Fall.

  • Science in Action (Experienced Level)

The Science in Action curriculum consists of three weeks of exciting adventures.

  1. Learn the physical sciences by experimenting with energy, pressure, force and density.

  2. Performance advance lab experiments with Vernier probes.

  3. Understand different science concepts by designing models and motors.

7th & 8th Grade




  • Advanced Robotics with FTC Robot Concepts

FTC Camp introduces students to the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robot Concepts. FTC uses aluminum and steel to build 2 foot robots that are designed to meet a challenge. Students will learn DC Motors, along with servo motors. These robots will be programming using the Labview programming language.

  • Science in Action (Advanced Level)

The Science in Action curriculum consists of three weeks of exciting adventures.

  1. Learn the physical sciences by experimenting with energy, pressure, force and density.

  2. Performance advance lab experiments with Vernier probes.

  3. Understand different science concepts by designing models and motors.


Session II – 3 Weeks from July 6 – July 24

Music and Art (3rd & 4th Grader)

All that Jazz!
The Concert Orchestra students will tour the community to highlight student talent focusing on the idiom of Jazz. A minimum of 1 year experience on your instrument is required.

Drawing
Explore the world of drawing by evaluating the art work of famous artist and learning different drawing techniques.

Music and Art (5th & 6th Grader)

Introduction to Guitar
Students learn the rudimentary skills of guitar performance including but not limited to: Chords, note reading and basic music theory.

Paper Crafting
Students will learn a variety of paper crafting technique including but not limited to origami, quilling, paper mache and more.
