UMM

The UMM will be cooking a VBS dinner on Tuesday, June 6th, and need volunteer men to cook.  Set-up time will be 4PM, and meal time will start at 5:30PM. Please let Paul Kriekard know if you can help pkriekard@comcast.net 801-644-0037.

2017 Vacation Bible School

We are geared up and ready to go for Maker Fun Factory VBS! Join us on June 5-9 from 5:30 (dinner at 5:00) – 8:00 p.m. each evening as we discover that God made us — and for a purpose!  The week will be filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear and touch.  Sciency-Fun Gizmos™, team-building games and cool Bible songs and stories are just a few of the standout activities that will help their faith follow into real life. VBS is for children ages 3 years —6th grade. If you have not registered your children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors yet and wish for them to attend, please contact Brenda to inquire about openings. Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help at VBS and all those that have donated items. It takes a village! Please contact Brenda Boren, VBS Director, at b.boren34@gmail.com if you have questions or need more information.

Please be sure items are CLEAN and in GOOD CONDITION. Items may be dropped off beginning Sunday the 11th after church. If items are not clean/good condition, they will be disposed of prior to the sale. Mattresses cannot be accepted, but electronics and exercise equipment can be accepted! Clipboards will be passed during worship for you to sign up to help with set up, clean up and working at the sale. Remember… many hands make light work!! Funds raised will be used to support our local missions – YCC, Ogden Rescue Mission, St. Anne’s/Lantern House.

Attention Students

The 2017 William H. & LaDean Stobaugh Scholarship Application is available on the church website. Completed applications are due to the church office or to the United Methodist Men no later than June 11, 2017.

Bee Keeper News

In addition to preparing the hives, we have also been teaching the students at elementary schools in the area about bees and beekeeping and how important bees are to the environment and making food for us to eat. Word is getting out about our passion for God’s bees and what they do for God’s Creation. This is already starting to be an exciting year for the beekeeping ministry!!

We welcome all interested folks! Please contact Kristen regarding next meeting.

Book Talk

The Book Talk book of the month for June is Beware That Girl by Teresa Toten. Join us on Monday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Cheryl Thompson for our book discussion. Contact Cheryl at 801-389-9864 for further information.

The June Mission Emphasis

The Mission emphasis for June is the UMM scholarship fund. This fund has for years helped provide financial aid to numerous FUMC students attending college or post-high school technical schools. The award is entitled the “William H. & LaDean Stobaugh Scholarship Award” in memory of a FUMC couple that advocated for higher education. You can help our students defray the high cost of education by making a donation into the mission box in the foyer, placing change in the offering plate, or noting “Scholarship Fund” on a check.
