(2007), shows the total and average number of tropical storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes by month for the period 1851‑2010. This table also has the monthly total and average number of hurricanes to strike the United States since 1851. Table 9b displays the same statistics from 1981-2010 corresponding to the 30-year climatological averages. Table 9c shows the record activity in the basin by month of formation.
