Toby Bloomberg

Bio

Toby Bloomberg is a widely recognized expert on social media marketing and speaks regularly on the topic at to organizations and industry events. Combining over 15-years of traditional strategic marketing and with the lessons learned from her adventures in 5 years with social media, Toby’s company, Bloomberg Marketing/Diva Marketing, helps (the people in) organizations join the new conversation, from blogs, to social networking to widgets to blogger relations and beyond..without getting blown-up.
One of her passions is helping marketers “get” the benefits of social media so it’s not a surprise that you can find Toby speaking and consulting on the topic at conferences and for organizations such as the American Marketing Association, 3M, M/A/R/C, GourmetStation - launched one of the first character blogs http://is.gd/ha8M, PRSA, New Communications Forum, Blog World, Cox Communications, Purina, Mayfield Dairy and BlogHer. In addition she has worked with small businesses and start-ups.
Toby not only understands social media marketing she is a leader in the conversation. Toby’s blog Diva Marketing www.divamarketingblog.com is one of the highest ranked marketing blogs in the world according to the Ad Age Power 150. Launched in 2004, Diva Marketing was one of the first blog brands and Toby is frequently referred to as the social media marketing diva. Diva Marketing was required reading for marketing students at the University of Delaware, Bentley College and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Toby has been the AMA (SIG) Shared Interest Group’s community leader since the group’s launch in 2001. In addition from 2002 – 2006 she managed the SIG initiative which included: providing training and best practice support to nine SIG leaders, developing community guidelines and working with AMA National to ensure the SIGS enhanced member value.

Toby was also an adjunct professor at Goizueta School of Business at Emory University where she taught an innovative course on management consulting. Toby serves on the boards of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association, International Blogger and New Media Association; the social media communities Savvy Auntie and Divine Caroline; non profit organization Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia, Atlanta Interactive Marketing Assoc, and International Bloggers New Media Association.
She holds a degree from Emerson College and has performed post-baccalaureate studies in marketing and management at Emory University.
