Pat Yasinskas, ESPN: Harper said he really didn’t want to leave New Orleans. But he might have if the Saints hadn’t stepped up with a four-year, $28.5 million contract.
Mike Triplett, Times-Picayune: Harper's deal is worth $25 million over four years, which is slightly less than the $28 million originally reported. He received a $7 million signing bonus.
Pat Yasinskas, ESPN: If they wanted to get rid of him, they would have done it by the third day of the league year when $2.6 million of his base salary became guaranteed.
Mike Triplett, Times-Picayune: He will count $3.66 million against the cap now, down from $7.1 million. Harper took a pay cut of $1.5 million this year as part of the deal (from $5.35 million to $3.85 million). But it was a win-win now that he gets almost all of the money up front and doesnt have to worry about being released as a cost-saving measure. Harper received a signing bonus of $2.91 million, plus a base salary of $840,000 in 2013. He also kept his $100,000 workout bonus. Next year Harpers salary will drop from $6 million to $2.35 million, with another $800,000 in bonuses. His cap number will drop from $7.9 million in 2014 to $5.87 million. The new deal now includes an extension into 2015. Harpers salary will be $2.7 million that year, with another $800,000 in bonuses and a cap figure of $4.47 million.
Mike Florio, PFT: Harper’s cap number for 2013 has plunged from $7.15 million to $3.66 million… The new deal extends Harper’s contract by one more year, via a base salary of $2.7 million, a roster bonus of $650,000, and a workout bonus of $150,000 in 2015.

Mike Strom/Brian Allee-Walsh, Times-Picayune: Harvey reached agreement on a two-year, $1.2 million contract Monday. Harvey, who earned about $350,000 in 1997 with the Saints, will earn $600,000 in each year of the deal in bonuses and salary. The contract includes another $950,000 in incentives. Harvey, an eight-year veteran who is entering his fourth season as a Saint, could earn an additional $200,000 each year for being a starter. Hawthorne will earn a $700,000 base salary in 2012, giving him a salary cap figure of only $1.46 million. In 2013, Hawthorne is scheduled to earn a $3 million roster bonus and a $1 million base salary. In 2014, he'll earn a $1 million base salary and $1 million roster bonus. In 2015, he'll earn a $2 million base salary and $2.5 million roster bonus. In 2016, he's scheduled to earn a $4 million base salary.
Aaron Wilson, Scout.com: Hawthorne's $19 million five-year deal signed this month includes $3.8 million signing bonus, $8.5 million total guaranteed…
Mike Triplett, Times-Picayune: Hawthorne's deal will save the Saints $2.05 million, according to Yasinskas. He converted a scheduled $3 million roster bonus into a signing bonus.
Mike Triplett, ESPN: Hawthorne took a pay cut of $1.25 million -- though it saves a total of $2 million against New Orleans' 2015 cap because of the way it was structured. Hawthorne received a $1.5 million signing bonus, a base salary of $1.19 million and a roster bonus of $560,000 (due this week). That's a total of $3.25 million, which is down from the $4.5 million he was scheduled to make. 2006 CUT Post (claimed by NYJ)

Daryl Hobbs
Dan Pompei, Chicago Sun-Times: Before trading malcontent receiver Daryl Hobbs to the Seattle Seahawks for a conditional seventh-round draft pick, the New Orleans Saints paid him a $500,000 signing bonus to restructure the last two years of a contract he signed with the Oakland Raiders, and they must pay him $150,000 of his $800,000 salary in 1998. Hobbs will count $483,333 against the Saints' salary cap next season.

San Jose Mercury News: The Saints (4-7) gave no figures for Hobert's three-year, no-option contract. A television station reported he got no signing bonus and will be paid $15,000 a game this season. He could get $900,000 next year if he plays in 70 percent of the games.
Elizabethe Holland, St. Louis Post-Dispatch: he signed a three-year, $ 1.88 million contract with New Orleans.

Matt Winklejohn, Atlanta Journal Constitution: The Saints gave him a modest $ 2.15 million signing bonus as part of a four- year, $ 9.9 million contract…
Brian Allee-Walsh, Times Picayune: Mueller extended Horn’s contract after the 2000 season, when he caught a career-high 94 passes for 1,340 yards and eight touchdowns and was selected to the Pro Bowl. The extension included a $2.7 million signing bonus.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Horn is scheduled to earn a base salary of $2.7 million for 2003, with a roster bonus of $200,000 and an offseason workout bonus of $100,000 for which he almost certainly will not meet the qualifications. In 2004, the final season of his current deal, his base salary is $2.9 million and he is due a $100,000 roster bonus.
Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: Under his old contract, Horn was due a total of $6 million in 2003-2004. The new contract, which adds a season and now binds Horn to New Orleans through 2005, is worth $13 million, but only raises the Saints' cap charge for '03 from $4.212 million to $5.312 million. Under the new deal, Horn received a $5.1 million signing bonus that is payable in six installments. He already pocketed a $200,000 roster bonus on March 15 and then got an additional $1.5 million roster bonus on Thursday. His base salaries for 2003 and 2004 are $700,000 each (down from the scheduled $2.7 million for this year and $2.9 million for 2004 under the old deal) and then the base jumps to $3.8 million for 2005. There is also a $1 million roster bonus due in the spring of 2005.
Jeff Duncan, Times Picayune: The final numbers are in the books for Joe Horn's six-year, $41 million contract extension. Horn will earn base salaries of $665,000 (2005), $1.635 million (2006), $4.450 million (2007), $4.73 million (2008), $5.010 million (2009) and $5.29 million (2010). The deal included a $7 million signing bonus. It also includes roster bonuses of $1.5 million (2006), $1 million (2007), $2 million (2008), $3 million (2009) and $4 million (2010). Horn will receive workouts bonuses of $100,000 and $200,000 each season…
