A great capture of this classic musical. After a recent shoulder injury, Davis does the entire show in various colored slings; he pulls it off nicely, despite a little lack of movement. With a a massive cast of almost 50, the show has tons of energy. Overall, Gail is the standout, her Marian transitions nicely throughout the show, and her rendition of “My White Knight” is incredible. There are a couple very quick dropouts in the first act, but nothing major. There is no obstruction and no washout. Includes curtain call. A 2 DVDs

The Mystery of Edwin Drood (3/10/13) Broadway Revial, Final Performance
Cast: Jim Norton (Chairman), Nick Corley (Stage Manager), Will Chase (John Jasper), Stephanie Block (Edwin Drood), Erin Davie (Rosa Bud), Jessie Mueller (Helena Landless), Andrew Samonsky (Neville Landless), Gregg Edelman (The Reverend), Chita Rivera (Princess Puffer), Peter Benson (Bazzard), Nicholas Barasch (Deputy), Robert Creighton (Durdles). This show is fantastic, but the closing performance is really something extra special and is one of the best nights (well, afternoon) I've had in theatre, and the audience was crazy enthusiastic. Takes about a minute at the start of each act to settle into it, some shakiness between scenes but mostly well filmed. c. Blackout when the house lights were on for voting. Includes curtain call and emotional speeches by Scott Ellis and Rupert Holmes, well these are a little shaky and obstructed, but they are there.
