8. Transfer to the Department of Veterans Affairs
a. Soldiers receiving SUD treatment maybe transferred to a VA Treatment Facility only under the following conditions) When within 30 days of separation. (ARNG and USAR).
(2) On the Soldier’s written request for transfer and additional rehabilitation.
b. The request will specify the length of treatment to which the Soldier agrees. No Regular Army Soldiers will be transferred to the VA through medical channels prior to completion of separation. (Refer to AR 635

200.)
