will appear under the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PISystem\PI\Counters\ When the interface service is stopped, the Viewing Performance Counter DataThe values that are written to the performance counters can be viewed with the Windows Performance Monitor. On Window, the performance monitor is launched from Start | Programs | Administrative Tools (Common) | Performance Monitor. To view counters from within the Windows Performance Monitor, do the following. Select the Add to chart command from the Edit menu. From the Object drop-down, choose the appropriate object as identified by the service display name of the interface. From the Counter list box select the counter to be viewed. To get a detailed description of the selected counter, click the Explain>> button. To add the selected counter, click the Add button. Historizing Performance Counter DataThe data that are written to performance counters can be written to PI with the PI Performance Monitor Interface. There is a FULL version and a BASIC version of this interface. The BASIC version of the interface is bundled with PI 3.3 and greater. The basic version has four limitations: It must run on the same machine as the PI Server. It will collect data for a maximum of 512 points. Only one instance of the interface is allowed. Data can be collected for performance counters only on the local machine. The full version does not have these limitations.
