VOICES: THE SECRET TO YOUR DESTINY
Voices. What a word! The world is full of voices with different content and significance. The voices you follow will determine your destiny.

There are voices of men and spirits, God and Satan, helpers and opposers. Which voices are you hearing and heeding? The voices we can hear and heed include the following the voices of:

  1. Doubting Ministers and Seers

  2. Devil’s Messengers and Satan

  3. Deceitful Mentors and Seducers

  4. Divine Messengers and Servants

  5. Divine Maker and Saviour

DOUBTING MINISTERS AND SEERS

Numbers 13:27-33; 14:1-45; 1 Samuel 17:33; 2 Kings 7:1- 20; 2:3,5,16-18; 2 Corinthians 4:13; Psalm 116:10.

The ten spies that brought an evil report of their search and the land did so because of lack of faith. Unbelief filled their hearts and this caused Israel to spend and waste 40 years in the wilderness. Their voices and evil report sealed Israel’s destiny (Numbers 13:27-33; 14:1-45).
Saul told David that he cannot be able to face Goliath (1 Samuel 17:33). Because such doubters are not able to face the challenge, they will tell others that they are not able. Don’t let them transfer their doubt unto you. Refuse to be infected with their unbelief and doubt.

The economic adviser to the King of Israel was so full of unbelief that he jettisoned the word of Prophet Elisha. He died an untimely death because of his unbelief. To listen to such voices and follow is to experience defeat and death (2 Kings 7:1- 20).

The sons of the prophet did not believe that Elijah truly went to heaven. They asserted that the chariot of fire must have crashed. The testimony of their mouth and the state of their heart did not agree (2 Kings 2:3,5,16-18).

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A heart full of faith will result in the language of faith. Those who believe always speak in faith (2 Corinthians 4:13; Psalm 116:10).

DEVIL’S MESSENGERS AND SATAN

Genesis 3:1-15; Genesis 4:1-9; John 8:44; 13:2,27; 1 John 3:12; Matthew 4:1-13; 16:23; Luke 4:1-13; Acts 13:6-13; 1 Kings 22:13-28; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Jeremiah 23:32; 29:31

Eve listened to and followed the Devil’s voice and landed humanity in an eternal mess (Genesis 3:1-15). This forever altered the destiny of man.

Cain’s action was motivated by Satan (Genesis 4:1-9; John 8:44; 1 John 3:12).

Judas Iscariot listened to and followed Satan’s voice and perished eternally (John 13:2,27).

Satan’s voice came to Jesus at His temptation but He refused to follow that voice (Matthew 4:1-13; Luke 4:1-13).

Satan can disguise his voice to look like the compassion of a loving friend. Get thee behind me Satan is the correct response to such (Matthew 16:23).

Satan’s messengers can come in the form of Bar Jesus, Ahab’s 400 false prophets. They steal God’s word from people so that they will not be saved. They pervert the way of righteousness. They tell lies and prophesy falsely. They disguise themselves as God’s ministers just like Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (Acts 13:6-13; 1 Kings 22:13-28; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Jeremiah 23:25-40; 29:31).

DECEITFUL MENTORS AND SEDUCERS

1 Kings 13:1-32; 12:3-17; Job 2:9; 16:1; 2 Samuel 13:1-20,32,33; Genesis 39:1-23; Revelation 2:20-23; Proverbs 7:5-27

The old prophet presented himself as a mentor to the young prophet. He told him lies. The young prophet’s was eternally altered because he listened to the voice of a deceitful mentor (1 Kings 13:1-32).

Job’s wife was meant to be his companion and counsellor, “curse God and die” is a voice that can only lead to a ruined destiny (Job 2:9).

Job refused to heed the voices of his friends who he termed miserable counsellors (Job 16:1).

Amnon died an untimely death because he listened to the voice of Jonadab who taught him how to strategise immorality (2 Samuel 13:1-20,32,33).

Rehoboam listened to the voices of empty headed youths instead of experienced old men and lost the kingdom as a result (1 Kings 12:3-17).

To listen to the voices of seducers is to perish. To listen to the voices of Potipha’s wife or Jezebel in the New Testament is to destroy your destiny (Genesis 39:1-23; Revelation 2:20-23; Proverbs 7:5-27).

DIVINE MESSENGERS AND SERVANTS

Jeremiah 6:16; 1:5-10; Amos 7:12-15; John 1:6; Isaiah 6:6-9; 30:21; 53:1; Numbers 13:30; 14:6-10

God sends His servants to show us the path to peace, rest and prosperity (Jeremiah 6:16).

They tell us that we are well able to go up and possess the land (Numbers 13:30; 14:6-10). Their messengers of faith inspire us, encourage us, strengthen and fortify us.

Theirs are the voices of watchmen (Ezekiel 3:18; 33:1-7).

God is the one that sends His prophet to speak to His people (Amos 7:12-15; John 1:6; Isaiah 6:6-9; 30:21; Jeremiah 1:5-10).

Many true ministers of God are lamenting like Isaiah after a long ministry that who has believed their report? (Isaiah 53:1).
DIVINE MAKER AND SAVIOUR

Deuteronomy 28:1-15; 30:1,15-19; John 10:27; 8:47; Matthew 4:18-22; 9:9; Revelation 2:7; 3:6; 22:17

God speaks to His people. Following the voice of God always results in blessing and progress (Deuteronomy 28:1-15; 30:1,15-19).

My sheep hear my voice and follow is the declaration of Christ. Are you hearing and heeding His voice (John 10:27; Matthew 4:18-22; 9:9).

The Spirit and the bride say come. But are you hearing? Have you prepared to come? (Revelation 2:7; 3:6; 22:17).
Prayer points:

  1. I will not be infected and affected by the doubt and unbelief of doubting ministers and self-appointed seers in Jesus’ name.

  2. I will not allow king Saul to stop me from confronting Goliath and enjoying divine victory (1 Samuel 17:33).

  3. I refuse to listen to the voice of Satan no matter how enticing in Jesus’ name (Genesis 3:1-10).

  4. I claim divine victory over every seducer in Jesus’ name (Genesis 39:1-23; Proverbs 7:5-27; Revelation 2:20-23).

  5. I receive grace to overcome every temptation of the Devil (Matthew 4:1-13).

  6. I banish every deceitful mentor, miserable counsellor from my life in Jesus’ name.

  7. I receive the courage to hear and follow the way of truth in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 30:21).

  8. I will hear the voice of my Saviour and Lord and follow in Jesus’ name (John 10:27).

  9. God will empower and enable me to follow the voices that will take me to a glorious destiny.
