Junior NASCAR

This class will teach your 8-12 year old to be a safe, educated Go-Kart driver; skills that will transfer to the everyday driving world! Covered in the class; seat belt safety, rules of the road, braking, making turns, driving in lanes, passing, knowing when to yield and driving defensively. Participants who demonstrate competence after this experience will be given a Fort Fun Drivers Permit, allowing them to drive independently on their next paid visit!

AGE: 8-12 years

LOCATION: Fort Fun

NOTE: Participants must be 8-12 years old, be at least 50 inches tall, wear closed-toe shoes, dress for the weather and provide their own water bottle. Long hair must be pulled back. Child Sign Language

Girls Gotta Run

This awesome program is for girls in 4th through 6th grade. Girls will learn about fitness through running and circuit training while focusing on increasing self-esteem through weekly lessons and journal writing. Sponsored by Poudre Valley Health Systems Healthy Kids’ Club.

All of the following activities are held at The Farm, 600 N. Sherwood. Register at any of the Recreation registration sites (see page 4).


Helmets are required for all pony and horse riders and will be provided. A participant may bring his/her own equestrian helmet (no bike helmets allowed) if they wish.
Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s birthday with the chickens, cows, goats and more! Meeting the animals, riding a pony or going on a hayride, all spell “a darn tootin’” good time to be had by all. Your host/hostess will take care of all the details to ensure a stress-free day for you. Parties are for youngsters ages 3-9. See information on page 6.


After School Farmers

Experience life on a farm by participating in farm activities such as milking a cow or a goat, making crafts, taking a hayride, and some surprises too!

Spring Break Pony Camp

Jingle Bell Times at The Farm

Join us for a new twist on an old favorite. Free admission still includes a stroll through The Farm, lights, hayrides, music, and visiting the animals, of course. The new twist includes s’mores, gift making in the workshop for kids, cider, hot dogs and other holiday surprises as well for a nominal fee. Bring your family and friends; everyone’s invited for some old-fashioned holiday fun! Be sure to mark this holiday tradition on your calendar!

NOTE: Entry to The Farm is free for this event. Fees apply for some of the activities. The Farm will only be open for this event, please note the hours.

Adopt An Animal

Anyone can adopt an animal at The Farm and become its “parent”! As an adoptive parent, you are helping to provide for the food and care of “your” animal.


Of course, your adopted animal stays at The Farm where it is cared for by farm staff. (Note: for all practical purposes, some of the animals are sold when they reach maturity.) It’s easy to adopt! Choose your favorite farm animal and adopt it for a year by making a tax-deductible donation. A farm “parent” receives an adoption certificate, his/her name listed at The Far, and a poster as a “thank you”, because we do appreciate your support.
Adopt before May 19 and receive reservations to the Barn Burner to be held May 20, 2009.
Barn Burner

Adopt a farm animal before May 19, and you will receive two free reservations to a boot stompin’ good time on Thursday, May 20 at The Farm be accompanied by an adult.

*Reservations for additional guests are available for $5 per person. Adoptive parents and their guests* are invited to this special event which will include entertainment, food, and pony rides.

General adult

General Information

It is recommended that your physician be consulted before beginning any exercise program.
If you are 45 or older, sedentary or exhibit any of the major coronary risk factors, you should have a maximal treadmill test performed by your doctor prior to participation.
Registration Options

For fitness classes, three registration options are available:

Participants may register for an entire class session.

For late registrants, session fees can be prorated for the days remaining in a session (at $4.00/day rounded up to the nearest dollar; $8/day for Hatha Yoga) except Shotokan Karate and Tai Chi Chuan.

Participants may pay a drop-in fee of $4.00/class, except in the above-mentioned classes. Adult Yoga drop-in is allowed at $8/class.

Work Out Partners

Workout partners with and without disabilities will be matched to meet weekly at a time and day that works in both partners schedule. Strength training, cardiovascular equipment and aquatic exercise are all available to create the workout best for you. Partners will be arranged for a time commitment of 12 weeks.

MS Dryland Exercise

For people with multiple sclerosis and designed to maximize strength and endurance through performance of chair-based exercises.
