2009 WINTER

YOUTH INDOOR INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL CLASSES


COST/INFORMATION:
The cost is $78 per player for six one (1) hour sessions of instruction. (Exception-Catcher’s Clinic @ $32 per player – single day session) Sessions will be filled on a first – come, first-served basis. Session beginning dates listed below. If weather is questionable on the day of event call the instructor or 395-5891 (NCC weather line). To register send form and payment (check or money order only please) payable to New Castle County to: Sports and Athletics Section, 77 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.

INSTRUCTOR INFO:
Chris Eddy (683-0483)drafted by Kansas City Royals in 3rd round after graduating from Texas Christian University. Chris made his major league debut with the Oakland A’s in 1995. Played on various minor league teams and was a member of the Wilmington Blue Rocks. He was the 1992 Reliever of the Year with the North West League and the 1998 Pitcher of the Year for the Atlantic League.
Tom Lemon (998-0267) – present head coach at Sanford H.S. & former head baseball coach at St. Mark’s H.S. Tom led the Spartans to four state titles and eight appearances in the state championship game. Dozens of Lemon’s products have played college baseball and six have been drafted by the pros. Honored in past as Catholic Coach of the Year, Delaware Coach of the Year, and coached the Delaware All Stars three times in the Carpenter Cup Classic.
Rob Niggebrugge (832-0900) - assistant baseball coach at University of Delaware for seven years and also coached a Dutch Club Team (ADO) to the 1991 National Championship in Holland. Rob was also team captain of the Dutch Olympic Baseball Team from 1989-1991 and was the starting second baseman for four years during his college career at Temple University.
Matt Smith (234-6614) – current head baseball coach at St. Mark’s High School. Matt has lead the Spartans to 5 state championships (’99, ’03, ’04, ’05, ’07). Many of his players have gone on to play college baseball and five have been drafted by the pros. Coach Smith was Coach of the Year in 1999, District 2 Coach of the Year in 2004, and five-time Catholic Coach of the Year.
Mike Walls (383-0186) – current assistant coach at Delcastle H.S. and previous assistant at Salesianum H.S. Played 3rd base and pitcher at St.Joseph’s University. He was the MVP of team his final two years, finished with a .356 career batting average, and was selected 1st team Atlantic 10 all conference in 2003. Mike was drafted by the Houston Astros and played two seasons in the minor leagues.
John Wockenfuss (410-885-3729) – drafted by Washington Senators after graduating from Dickinson H.S. John played in the major leagues for 12 seasons (10-Detroit Tigers and 2-Philadephia Phillies), managed teams at various levels in the major league, and was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame (1993) and Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame (1994).
