National sovereignty – National sovereignty has similar justifications to national security it is amorally relativist compromise, it provides for some degree of stability on the international scene, and when it is present there may generally be peace. National sovereignty opens the door to the claim that nations have aright to protect their interests, establish their own security, and pursue what course provides for that security. That in turn runs the risk of critiquing national sovereignty by pointing out that a sovereign North Korea may not respect the sovereignty of other nations, but remember that we seek the action which maximizes national sovereignty, meaning peace is a criterion which leads to that point.
