  • The 19th century saw significant change in many areas of life and was a revolutionary era for European history. A time of transition and opportunity was ushered in by democracy and nationalism, human and civil rights, industrialization, and free market economics. Throughout these times, inventors created advancements for its modernization and helped us until this day. Here are some examples that helped us throughout the history.

19th Century Inventions: The Telephone

  • The modern telephone is the result of the work of many people. Alexander Graham Bell was, however, the first to patent the telephone, as an "apparatus for transmitting vocal or other sounds telegraphically". Bell has most often been credited as the inventor of the first practical telephone.

19th Century Inventions: The Typewriter

  • A machine for writing in characters similar to those produced by printer's type by means of keyboard-operated types striking a ribbon to transfer ink or carbon impressions onto the paper.

19th Century Inventions: The Elevator

  • The elevator is among only a handful of inventions that helped cities to grow upward. In fact, elevators enabled the urban environment we know and love today. It's an often-overlooked mode of transportation that helped build cities, transformed how people live and work, and revolutionized architecture itself.

  • Your life's adventure is captured on film. It has affected how we recall events from the past. From the photographs of your youth to those of your children and grandchildren. It's possible to record and save life's milestones, such as first laughs, steps, and dates. Personal contact that would otherwise be lost forever is preserved through photography.

  • A lightbulb is operated by electricity, which produces light. In addition to illuminating a dark region, they may also be used for many other purposes, including traffic control, heating, signaling the presence of an electrical device, and many others. Numerous, some of which are even in space. It is now one of the most used inventions that lit up the whole world
