Objectives of the Course

Increasingly aging world population is increasing rapidly due to Requirement to elderly care. For this purpose, the physiology of aging, common diseases in old age, elderly care giving, a quality way to spend the remaining life issues such as helping to gain experience.

Learning Outcomes

Awareness of the students in geriatric nursing is provided, about it, old age, description and classification, the demographic situation in Turkey and around the world, according to the systems encountered in elderly individuals to learn the changes.


Although changes in aged care systems (the nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, gastrointestinal, musculo-skeletal system, skin, endocrine system, metabolic, immune system, mental and psychological changes related to the five sense organs), elderly individuals, the psychological approach, in old age nutrition, exercise, sports and the importance of old age, old age and prevention of possible accidents, problems of old age in general.

Course Content

The process of aging is caused by old age problems and solutions related to the theoretical knowledge and principles of care include elderly individuals.
