I am a highly motivated Edit Producer/AP who has spent a long career in TV production for UK, European and American broadcasters. I am very experienced in all forms of Specialist Factual Production, particularly in the areas of natural history, history, travel, adventure and science. I am a French speaker.
I began at the BBC working on major international co-productions such as ‘GREAT RAILWAY JOURNEYS OF THE WORLD’ filming all over the world from the US to Australia. Others followed such as ‘GREAT JOURNEYS’, ‘IN SEARCH OF THE TROJAN WAR’ with historian MICHAEL WOOD, and of course at the BBC’s acclaimed Natural History Unit on DAVID ATTENBOROUGH’S ‘THE FIRST EDEN’ – a social and natural history examination of how man over the centuries influenced the course of the Mediterranean world.
I love the challenge of finding out about new subjects, and sourcing the most captivating contributors to illustrate each story well. For an Austrian documentary for theatrical release about the real story of Hungarian Count Almasy, on whom the film ‘THE ENGLISH PATIENT’ was based, I tracked down some elderly people in Cairo who remembered Almasy’s Egyptian desert exploits in the 30s and his infamous escapade of guiding two German spies through the Western Desert at the height of WW2. I also sourced contributors for a Channel Five ‘Revealed’ documentary for LOVE PRODUCTIONS about the backroom Royal gossip on what really went on in the run-up to the wedding of Charles and Diana. As Edit Producer, I have produced numerous TRAVEL CHANNEL history docs for History Production Company ATLANTIC PRODUCTIONS under Anthony Geffen as well as for BBC Worldwide under BBC’s commercial arm Wildvision. One of these BBC productions was a Christmas special for ANIMAL PLANET combining specially shot material and BBC archive – ‘ANIMALS OF THE NATIVITY’. I have worked as Development AP for a number of major independent Production companies in Europe and the UK developing ideas for commission. I am currently advising on editorial and script for a film on European Wilderness to be premiered this summer in Salamanca, Spain and later broadcast on ARTE.
