As a marketing manager and having to be responsible for the marketing and ad campaign of products or services using the task learning guides (TLGs) would be highly effective. To compete with competitors, I would need some strong marketing strategies. The information such as the company’s financials, summary report, trends, performance is able to be researched and obtained from the TLGs and its up-to-date. The research would help with the competitive advantage in knowing what products are creating the most in sales and helping to create the most in profit margins.
Being a student completing my graduate course of study I can already see how much more beneficial this database will help simplify my research. In my Strategic Management and Business Policy course knowing how to access this information to conduct the Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat (SWOT) analysis we were assigned, would have provided me with for specific and clear data. The use of the library in this way could have saved time in searching peer reviewed articles that may have been out of date or utilizing sources that may not be the most credible in order to get current data on company. Often a company’s direct website if they have and “about” section does not always provide the detailed core information you are needed compared to all the data in one central location. The database and task learning guides can provide the in-depth analysis of a company.
