Robert Mackie
FORMER Fife Free Press Group photographer Bob Mackie has died at the age of 68.
Bob, who lived in Balsusney Road, Kirkcaldy, was a staff photographer with the group - which includes the Fife Herald and St Andrews Citizen - for 17 years from 1991 to 2008.
Born in Markinch, where his father Jack was a Provost, Bob attended the local primary school then Bell Baxter High School in Cupar.
After leaving school he took a job as an industrial photographer with the Tullis Russell paper mill, attending Kirkcaldy Technical College to further his photography skills.
After being made redundant from the mill, he set up as a freelance photographer, covering all types of events around Fife.
He joined the Fife Free Press Group staff in May 1991 and quickly became a valued member of the team.
In his spare time he enjoyed walking and was a member of a local walking group as well as Kirkcaldy Probus Club.
He is survived by his wife Pam, their son Graeme, daughters Elaine and Claire, and seven grandchildren.
His funeral took place at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Wednesday 15th February 2012 at 1.30pm.
Bob's colleagues remember him as a quiet, unassuming man with a warm sense of humour.

She lived latterly in Stanley, Perthshire, and her daughter, Rona, says that she was very active right up to the last few months. She was an enthusiastic FP and it was she who persuaded her daughter to join the Association. Nora was a Milk Recorder and NAAFI manageress during World War Two.
Campbell McLeod
Campbell McLeod (S3) was selected to represent Fife at the Area Badminton Championships in 2005.
Robert MacLeod
Robert MacLeod (1960) died on 5th March 2001 following a car accident some weeks earlier. He commenced a coach-builder's apprenticeship with the former Fife County Council at a time when new vehicles arrived as a bare chassis. From there he went to work for the firm of Dennis Harper and later he joined the staff of Donald Heggie. After a short spell working for a St Andrews firm, he branched out on his own more than 20 years ago. In 1999 he realised his greatest ambition when he moved to state of the art, purpose-built premises at the Prestonhall Industrial Estate. In addition to his enthusiasm for his work, he had a keen interest in motor sport, having taken part in various activities organised by the former St Andrews and District Motor Club. He was a former Community Councillor and a member of Cupar Burns Club. He is survived by his father and his 2 sons, Robbie and Norman.

Mrs Peggy Matthew (1949) (née McMahon) died on 20th October 1999 after a short illness. This came as another shock to those who attended the reunion in June, for Peggy had been involved in the planning of this and previous reunions. A native of Cupar, Peggy's nursing career was spent in several hospitals including Perth Royal Infirmary. She had been for many years deeply involved in the work of the Church, being an Elder in her local congregation in Strathmiglo, and she took a very active part in the Presbyterial Council of the Guild. During the past two or three years she had embarked on a course of study leading to a degree in Scottish History at St Andrews University. She is survived by her husband Ian, also an FP (1946), and adopted children - two sons and a daughter.

He began his career with the firm of Blackadder, Gilchrist and Robertson in Dundee. The firm amalgamated with another one, and Wilson continued with that firm, Blackadder Reid Johnson. After some years he left to create his own firm, McMichael Grieve Alexander, but latterly became a partner in the firm of Muir, Myles Laverty in December 2006. He had a particularly good knowledge of civil and administration law and was highly regarded by the Dundee Bar Association. For a time he acted as Temporary Sheriff until that post was discontinued. Laurie MacMillan
Extracted from FPA Newsletter, December 2012:
Two FPs (around 1996 in S1), school friends with an interest in vintage and quirky clothing, decided to make their own instead of buying from shops. This led to the label Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Laurie Macmillan from Freuchie works full-time as a chef at Balbirnie Hotel. Sarah Lawson from Springfield is a support worker in Motherwell. They specialise in reincarnating old patterns and recycling fabrics from days gone by. They then make one-off garments for customers. They are now intending to move back to Fife with their original vintage ‘pop-up’ markets, Gin in Teacups. This idea began in the Greenside Hotel, Leslie, and provided a platform for other artists, traders and designers. Such was the success that they moved the markets to Glasgow and Edinburgh where they are organised on a monthly basis. The markets returned to Fife on 19th August in Dunfermline. On September 30th they were to be in the original venue in Leslie, and in Dundee on October 21st at the Queen's Hotel.
