NOTE: Decline in fishing as compared to 2003 was possible mainly on account of sprat and sturgeons. Its reason is related to reduction as 12-16 times of number and biomass of zooplanctons which sprats feeded with and subsequently, diminishing of volume of sprat fishery due to impact of Mnemiopsis Leidiyi being alien specy for the Caspian.

Notwithstanding national quotas were allocated by the Bioresources Commission in 2006 and 2009 no requests were addressed for industrial fishing of sturgeons by the organizations engaged in fishing and fish trade, because export quota has not been ratified by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.
