ABOUT COACH LUTHER
Coach Luther is in his third season at Armstrong and brings a long and successful history to the Pirate Basketball program. Coach Luther was the head coach at Newberry College in South Carolina for two seasons where he led the Wolves to the most wins in a single season. The Wolves also had the most conference wins and finished in second place, both of which set school records. Prior to his time at Newberry College, Coach Luther spent six years as an assistant coach at Mercer University, in Macon, Georgia. At Mercer, Coach Luther was apart of the NCAA’s biggest single season turn around from 6-23 in 2001-2002, to 23-6 in 2002-2003. The Bears captured their first ever regular season championship in the 2003.
“I am very excited about the possibilities here at Armstrong Atlantic State University, I feel like this is one of the best jobs in the country and the sky is the limit as we try and build towards a national championship”. Coach Luther and his staff are excited to be able to hold camps and want to continue being involved in the Savannah community.
