He apparently went from DeKalb County, Georgia to Mississippi after 1850. "Mahala"is a fairly common American Indian term for a woman and is also used for a woman's name in the MiddleEast. Mahala Wynne was born about 1807 or about 1806375 in Georgia. Hiram Cornwell and Mahala Cornwell had 4 children:

Mary Lane was born on May 6, 1808 in Jasper County, Georgia, was the daughter of Thomas Lane and Roda Nicholson, and died September 28, 1897 in Monticello, Jasper County, Georgia. Obediah Cornwell ( "Obadiah Cornwell"?) and Mary Cornwell had 9 children:

On either June 9, 1863 or July 9, 1963375 & 434 in Jasper County, Georgia, died January 24, 1889 in Jasper County, and is buried in the W.P. Hardy Cemetery in Jasper County, Georgia. He also served as a Captain in the 32nd. Georgia Infantry, SAC, and was wounded at the battle of Alerster, CSA. Elmira Hardy was born May 25, 1840, was the daughter of William Hardy and Maria Duncan, and died about 1924 or on December 18, 1926375. William Cornwell and Elmira Cornwell had 5 children:
