However, by another account, they left Missouri shortly after their daughter Ida Dell Cavner ("Ida Cavner") was born on July 10, 1870.419 They traveled by covered wagon in a wagon train which comprised the families of Hurst, Cavner and Mahuron, and they later moved from Grayson County, Texas to Hill County, Texas, and finally resided on the farm in south Texas a mile west of Lovelace, between Itasca and Hillsboro. According to family lore, the family came to Navajo and stayed for a few days in an old empty building south of the Navajo Mountains and which had a half dugout where they cooked and a log cabin where they slept.
