We have been provided with the following background information by CWO2 Erica Linnemann of USCG Sector Boston.

Tour of US Coast Guard Cutter ESCANABA: The Coast Guard Cutter ESCANABA (WMEC-907) is a 270' medium endurance cutter homeported in Boston, MA. Commissioned on August 29, 1987, the ESCANABA's crew of 100 active duty Coast Guardsmen is responsible for patrolling the waters off New England, enforcing federal and international fishing regulations, to deep in the Caribbean on migrant interdiction patrols, to more recently through the Panama Canal, to the Eastern Pacific for drug interdiction missions.
Tour of US Coast Guard Station Boston: Station Boston is designated as a Ports Waterways Coast Security (PWCS tactical unit). The unit often provides security to critical maritime infrastructures, as well as President of the United States security, cruise ship escorts, LNG tanker escorts, and stationary federal security zones. Station Boston primarily operates inside of Boston harbor, conducting search and rescue (SAR), commercial fishery boardings, recreational boating safety boardings, and others. The unit is comprised of 36 active duty members and 18 reservists. The unit maintains and conducts its missions using 4 Response Boats (not small boats; they are on cutters), which include two 29' Response Boat-Smalls, and two 45' Response Boat-Mediums.
Boston Harbor Cruise on Coast Guard Cutter FLYING FISH: The Coast Guard Cutter FLYING FISH (WPB 87346) is a 87' coastal patrol boat homeported in Boston, MA. Commissioned in 2002, the FLYING FISH's crew of 11 active duty Coast Guardsmen conduct their missions of Search and Rescue, law enforcement, marine environmental response, recreational boating safety, and military readiness within the Boston area of responsibility.

For those who plan to attend the Wardroom Club meeting later that afternoon, lockers will be provided to store business attire and to change after the tour. After changing, your casual clothes should then be stored in your car. Companions will then be able to attend the MOWW Staff Meeting and/or the Wardroom Club dinner without inconvenience.
We must know in advance how many companions will attend this event because the harbor tour will either be one longer cruise or two shorter cruises, depending on the number of companions to be accommodated in the Coast Guard boat. And of course the security checkpoint will need a list of names of those attending.

Please email our Adjutant, COL Larry Willwerth, at lwillwerth3@yahoo.com to register for the event not later than Monday, 11 May if you plan to attend. We must provide the Coast Guard with the following information for each person attending:
*Name and, if applicable, rank and Service:
*Do you have a current military ID:
*If arriving by vehicle, make and model of vehicle:
*Vehicle registration and State (if non-Massachusetts bring proof of insurance coverage):
*Cell Phone and email:

Many thanks to CAPT Gelzer for arranging this event.
