*Please make arrangements as soon as possible(hotel, transportation) if you will be participating in the July 10-16 AAU Club Championship in Florida. Booking.com is an excellent site. Your child does not have to qualify for this meet. Look up info about the meet on the following website: www.aausports.org. Click on sports, athletics, and then club championship. Arrangements are difficult to make as a team because athletes run on different days. We will have several fundraisers to help with the cost of the meet.
Individual Events
The coaching staff will determine the events an athlete will participate in. An athlete’s events may vary from one meet to another. These decisions will be made with the best interests of the athlete in mind. When determining the events each athlete will compete in, coaches use a variety of factors which includes, but not limited to the following:
-
Physical attributes
-
Fitness level
-
Performance evaluations
-
Previous experience
-
Performance during practices & individual competitions.
Final determination of all events rests solely on the recommendations of the coaching staff. Decisions on athletes’ events are based on the athletes’ best chances for success for the current & future seasons.
Relays
-
The coaching staff determines which athletes are on the relay teams.
-
There is no “permanent” spot on any relay team. All athletes must earn the right to compete on relays.
-
Before committing to a relay team, parents must consider their athlete’s availability & commitment for the entire season.
Suffolk Stars’ Track Club Handbook Acknowledgement
I have received and read the Suffolk Stars Handbook. I understand the information, rules, and regulations contained therein and will comply with them. Non-compliance may subject the athlete to be dismissed form the Track Club without a refund.
