High Hesket, CARLISLE, Cumbria CA4 0HU TEL: 016974 73386 Head teacher: Mrs Margaret TaylorEmail: head@high-hesket.cumbria.sch.uk Website: www.high-hesket.cumbria.sch.uk Dear Parents Tuesday, 15th February 2011 School Organisation – Consultation Paper As we previously advised, there is to be a Consultation process regarding arrangements for primary education for High Hesket School and Armathwaite School. The Consultation Document has now been produced and is attached to this letter. This will also be available electronically from tomorrow and can be accessed at www.cumbriacc.gov.uk/childrensservices/school-organisation The document gives the background to the current provision and briefly details how the changes will impact on the schools. The potential changes will have a significant impact on the educational structure at High Hesket School. You can express your views and opinions by 16th March 2011, using the reply slip at the back of the brochure, however we would suggest that you write in person to The School Organisation Team, addressed to Mr Andy Smart. All correspondence will be considered when the Council’s Cabinet make their final decision. At our meeting on Thursday evening, 17th February at 7 p.m. in school, we will give you more information about this, so please try to attend if you possibly can. A further meeting will be held on Wednesday, 2nd March at 5.30 p.m. in school, when representatives from The School Organisation Team will be present to answer your questions and listen to your views. If there is a requirement, we will organise crèche facilities for the March meeting, should you have difficulty with childcare. To ascertain the demand for this, please complete and return the slip below before Thursday, 17th February. We recommend school age children do not attend these meetings.
