4. SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITIONS:-

The majority of the world’s population health status is determined primarily by their levels of socio economic development .e.g. education, nutrition, employment, housing, the political system of the country.

Education:-Education is one of the important factors influencing health status. Education is closely related with poverty, mal nutrition in health, high infant and child mortality rate.

Occupation:-One if employed in some productive work promotes health because the unemployed usually show a higher incidence of ill health and death.

Political system:-Health is also related to countries political system. Decisions concerning resource allocation, man power policy, choice of technology and the degree to which health services are made available and accessible to different segments’ of society are examples of the manner in which the political system can shape community health services.

Economic Status:-The economic status determines the purchasing power, standard of living, quality of life, family size and the pattern of disease and deviant behaviour in the community. It is also important factor seeking health care.
