Chris Mundy started his percussion career at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, VA. Mr. Mundy participated in Marching Band, Jazz Band, Winter Drum Line, and Concert and Symphonic Bands excelling in the percussion field while there. After High School graduation in 2007, his next path led him to Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) where he studied Turf Management. During his time at Virginia Tech, Mr. Mundy was able to join the Virginia Tech Drum Line where he played tenors. He began his instructing career in 2008 by helping out nearby Christiansburg High School for two years. His work led him down to Jacksonville, FL to work at Sawgrass Country Club where he helped a brand new high school called Atlantic Coast High. After deciding he was too far away from the mountains and from the greatest college in the nation, Virginia Tech, he moved back to VA to take a few more classes related towards music. While living in Blacksburg, VA for another year he began to instruct at Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, VA, where he started their first ever winter drum line. In the summer of 2012, Chris was offered a job working with Loudoun County Parks and Recreation maintaining the Athletic Fields at Franklin Park. In addition to that, Mr. Mundy was offered a Drum Tech position at Tuscarora High School. During the winter of 2013, Chris was contacted by Mr. Strickler and asked if he would come and help Woodgrove High School as the head drum line instructor. He gladly accepted the opportunity and now instructs the drum line in the Fall and heads up the winter drum line in the Winter and early Spring. Chris loves working with the students and looks forward to multiple seasons with the Marching Wolverines!
