Inga Kurgonaite
16-1 Assistant Coach
Inga Kurgonaite has just been hired by Emmanuel College to fill the Women's Head Volleyball coaching position.
Kurgonaite most recently spent 2012-2014 as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan. Prior to that in 2011 she was an assistant coach at Kent (Ohio) State University. She was a graduate assistant coach at Bucknell University (Lewisburg, Pa.) for three seasons (2008-10). The native of Lithuania helped with coaching, recruiting and opponent scouting at her previous schools.
Kurgonaite was a right-side/outside hitter at Lock Haven (Pa.) University from 2004-07. As a third team All-American in 2006, she led the Lady Eagles to three straight NCAA Elite Eight appearances (2004-06), three NCAA Atlantic Region championships (2004-06) and a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) titles (2004, 2006). A four-time All-Atlantic Region selection, she ended her career at Lock Haven setting school records ranking third in kills (1,459) and hitting percentage (.303) and fourth in blocks (426).
Kurgonaite was a 2007 NCAA Leadership Conference participant and was the co-president of the Lock Haven Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a senior in 2007-08. She received a bachelor's degree in recreation and event management there and a master's degree in education with a concentration on college student personnel at Bucknell.
