Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he had served in Air rescue. Donald E. Wolf, 81, Pickens, S.C., formerly of Bunker Hill, passed away at 12:53 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Laurel Hill Living Center, Pickens, S.C. Lance Michael Gingerich, 21, passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Wash., following an accident. He was born Sept. 25, 1985 in Kokomo, and graduated from Maconaquah High School in 2004. He was working in Seattle in the construction trades. Lance attended Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, and was employed at Fastenal in Indianapolis. While in high school he worked in several local restaurants, and was later employed by Fastenal in Marion. Lance had been an active member of the McGrawsville United Methodist Church while living in Miami County. He gave the gift of life by being an organ donor. He was a wonderful son and grandson who enjoyed tinkering on cars and riding four-wheelers. Survivors include his parents, Angie and Kenny Gingerich, Kokomo, and Todd and Yasha Shirley, Seattle, Wash.; siblings Dustin Gingerich and wife Savannah, Cookeville, Tenn., Brooklyn Gingerich, Kokomo, Olivia Shirley, William Shirley and Jonathon Shirley, all of Seattle; grandparents, Gene and Joanna Hedrick, Bill and Lyn Shirley and Stella Reynolds, all of Kokomo; great-grandparents, Alice Horner, Wilma Hedrick and Irene Vega, all of Kokomo, and Dorothy Melloan, Beech Grove; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His fiancee, Missy Chaney, Seattle, also survives.

On Nov. 1, 1947 in Newark, Ohio, she married Paul W. Verbosky, and he preceded her in death. Betty was a member of the Eagles and the Moose in Florida. She was a loving mother and housewife. He was born Jan. 6, 1930 in Urbana to Philip and Melba (Roy) Guttrich. He married Marlene Schroll on July 14, 1962 in Urbana; she preceded him in death in November of 1984. Myrval was a 1948 graduate of Urbana High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked on the family farm and owned and operated D&G Furniture in Urbana from 1973 to 1986. From 1986 to 2006 he worked for Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service. Dutch also was a member of Urbana Yoke Parish and Urbana American Legion Post 175. Louise Smith, 83, formerly of Akron, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake. She was born June 24, 1924 in Miami County to Victor R. Cover and Ida Pearl Raymer. On February 1, 1944, Louise married Harold L. Smith in Macy, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2004. Louise was a homemaker, as well as helped her husband with their dairy farm. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women of the church, the Order of the Eastern Stars # 124, Macy, where she was a past Worthy Matron. Louise is survived by one son, Randy J. Smith and wife Jeri, Akron; one sister, Lois Yoder, Macy; three grandchildren, Betsy Hiffner and husband Barry, Peru, Casey Smith, Lafayette, and Sally Nixon and husband Josh, West Lafayette; and two great-grandsons, Lucas Hiffner and Dash Nixon. Aside from her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Margaret Cook. Robert D. "Bob" Coppock, 90, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2007 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Peru, where he had resided since 1996. With the exception of 10 years, he was a lifelong resident of Peru. Bob was born to Donald M. and Madge (Oates) Coppock on December 21, 1916. He graduated from Peru High School in 1934, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1939 he received his bachelor of arts degree in history, from Indiana University Bloomington, and in 1940 his teacher certification and a degree from Kokomo Business College. After volunteering and serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before returning to Peru in the 1950s. After the death of his father in 1956, he took over the insurance business his father had run in Peru for many years. The Coppock insurance business was founded in 1883 by his maternal grandfather Joseph D. Oates. Bob Coppock ran the business from his home office at 68 West Third Street until his retirement in 1985. An avid and accomplished golfer, he was a longtime member of the Miami County Golf Association, served as its president, and was awarded many trophies over the years. Among his other civic activities, he belonged to the American Legion, Elks and Moose Lodges, was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Peru, and served as Chairman of the Miami County Alcohol Beverage Board. Bob is survived by five nieces and nephews: David M. Coppock of Sarasota, Florida; Jane Coppock of New Haven, Connecticut; Paul Coppock of Providence, Rhode Island; Donald Coppock of Brookline, Massachusetts; and Bruce Coppock, St. Paul, Minnesota; and 14 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and John Coppock, who grew up with him in Peru; his nephews Michael Coppock of Ione, Washington; and David H. Coppock of San Jose, California; and his companion of many years, Berneice Davisson.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, with Pastor Michael Wilson officiating. Friends are invited to come visit, reminisce, and share memories. Burial will follow the memorial at Bond Cemetery in Amboy. Frances Marguerite Vale, 87, Cottonwood, Arizona passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007. She was born December 31, 1919 in Chili, to Edward and Jessie (Allen) Keirn. Marguerite was fortunate to be able to stay at home and truly enjoy her roles as wife and mother. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family adored her, and shall forever.
Marguerite was a member of the Mountain View Methodist Church in Cottonwood, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed traveling. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 58 years, Albert Vale of Cottonwood, Ariz.; her two daughters, Melanie Gould with her husband Randy, of Encinitas, California; and Vicki Wait with her husband Rick, Oxnard, California; her brother Noel Keirn, with his wife Helen, of Peru; her only grandson, Alex Gould of Encinitas; several nieces and nephews including Jerry Keirn of Peru; Kelly Meadows of Peru; and Edward Keirn of Indianapolis. Paul Eugene Joyce, 68, Peru, passed away at 3 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home. He was born July 18, 1939 in Kokomo to Ralph J. and Elizabeth B. (Beer) Joyce. He married Marilyn J. (Bone) Jan. 30, 1959, and she survives. Paul drove a semi for 36 years, 24 of those for Hiner Transport. He attended St. Patrick School and Kokomo High School. He also was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed NASCAR and deep sea fishing and loved sprint car racing. Paul still holds the record at the Kokomo Speedway for winning 19 feature sprint car races in one year in 1961. Survivors besides his wife include a son, Bradley Joyce and wife Kaye, Kokomo; a daughter, Janice Waggoner and husband Anthony, Macy; two brothers, Ralph Joyce Jr. and wife Cindy, Kokomo, and Carl Wilson and wife Gloria, Fort Wayne; three sisters, Imelda Joyce, Tipton, Helen Smith and husband Joseph, Kokomo, and Rosemary Haynes and her friend Don Dewitt, Kokomo; five grandchildren, Amanda Sriver, Andrew Stanfield, Aaron Stanfield, Nikole Bolton and Autumn Chesshir; five great-grandchildren, Deaven Bolton, Kayeleb Bolton, Makayla Waggoner, Makenzie Garman and Alexis Stanfield; and his dog Katie. Frances C. Cook, 77, Peru, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Caring Hands Healthcare. She was born on June 16, 1930 in Peru to Lewis and Pauline (Hartman) Lutz. Frances was formerly married to Dale N. Cook. The 1948 graduate of Peru High School was a mother and homemaker. Also, Frances was a Sunday School teacher at Main Street United Methodist Church, and volunteered for the Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, Miami County Humane Society and the International Circus Hall of Fame. She was born October 22, 1936 in Peru to Fremont and Ruth (Fenton) Correll, and resided in Peru her entire life. On February 8, 1956, she married Charles E. Galbraith, and he survives. Carol had been a member of the Nazarene Church since 1945, and was a 19-year employee of Eck-Adams in Peru, prior to her working at Berko Electric in Peru for a brief time. Aside from her husband, Carol is survived by two daughters, Sharon Wilkison and husband Gary, Mexico, and Kathy Kelly and husband Terry, Logansport; two sons, Charles Galbraith and wife Jodi, Kokomo, and Bruce Galbraith and wife Alisa, Deedsville; great-grandson, Jon, whom the Galbraiths raised; four brothers, Jim Correll, Peru, George Correll and wife Bev, Perrysburg, Gary Correll and wife Cindy, Peru, and Skip Correll and wife Hazel, Peru; two sisters, Connie Mongosa and husband Pete, Peru, and Myrna Greene and husband Mike, Peru; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She graduated from Clinton Central High School. On May 30, 1965 in Michigantown, she married Donnie Moore. He survives. Helen retired from Zachary Confections in 1999. She also had previously worked for Jules Simon and Delmonte, both in Frankfort. She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary and attended Michigantown United Methodist Church. Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Tammy Roberts and husband Junior, Frankfort, and Sandra Reynolds and husband Corrie, Michigantown; a son, Danny Moore and wife Christina, Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Matt, Samantha, Aaron, Lewis, Taylor, Damon, Jayce and Katie; three sisters, Carol Savoie, Marilyn Hoff and husband Bob and Betty Heirs, all of Peru; two brothers, Tommy Black and wife Marge, and Richard Black and wife Debbie, all of Peru; a step-brother, Roy Ashlock and wife Margaret, Frankfort; three step-sisters, Pearl Lovingood, Peru, and Olean Anderson and Eveadean Belhamy, both of Tennessee; and a step-sister-in-law, Ruth Ashlock, Frankfort. She was preceded in death by by her parents, two sisters and two step-brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Archer-Weston Funeral Home, Frankfort, with entombment following in Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials would be appreciated to the Clinton County Humane Society.
