Commitments
The Middle Atlantic Parish Training Program commits to the following…
to provide a Guidebook to Interns and priest mentors.
to be an information resource for Interns and priest mentors.
to collect the Letter of Intent, Summer Covenant, and all reflections in order to turn them in to the Committee on Priesthood.
to provide $1,500 to supplement the Intern’s summer stipend from the church. Mid-Atlantic will send a check to the church once the form regarding payment is signed and sent to the canon’s office.
The Congregation commits to the following…
to host an Intern for eight weeks in the summer.
to provide adequate housing (if needed) for the Intern.
to provide travel reimbursement (not to include commuting) to the Intern.
to provide a $1,500 stipend to the intern.
to allow the priest mentor at least one hour a week for reflection time with the Intern.
to grant time off each week to the Intern.

The Intern commits to the following…
to provide the Mid-Atlantic Mid-Atlantic Director with a signed copy of The Letter of Intent and all other necessary information about the summer site.
to be familiar with the Mid-Atlantic Guidebook.
to write a Summer Covenant in concert with the priest mentor.
to meet weekly with the priest mentor for reflection.
to meet weekly with a Lay Mentoring Committee.
to meet every other week with a Mid-Atlantic Mentoring Group.
to write a Final Reflection at the end of the summer experience.
to turn over to the Mid-Atlantic Mid-Atlantic Director signed copies of the Letter of Intent, Summer Covenant, Final Reflection, priest mentor Reflection, Lay Committee Reflection.

The priest mentor commits to the following…
to be familiar with the Mid-Atlantic Guidebook.
to assist the Intern’s work of writing a Summer Covenant.
to meet weekly with the Intern for reflection.
to write a Reflection on the Intern at the end of the summer experience.
To help select a members for the Lay Mentoring Committee.

Additional Information
Updates of the Letter of Intent should be e-mailed to the Mid-Atlantic Director as new information becomes available.
A signed copy of the Letter of Intent should be mailed to the Mid-Atlantic Director as soon as it is completed.
An electronic copy of the Summer Covenant should be e-mailed to the Mid-Atlantic Director as soon as it is completed.
Signed Copies of the Summer Covenant, Intern’s Reflection, priest mentor’s Reflection, and Lay Mentoring Committee’s Reflection should be sent to the Mid-Atlantic Director at the end of the program. These documents will then be forwarded to the Bishop’s office and turned over to the Committee on Priesthood.
