The IPM621 lighter socket car mount holds large smartphones up to 6.75” tall, including the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. It may also hold mid-sized (7” or 8”) tablets, including the Apple iPad mini, depending on the location of your car’s lighter socket. It includes Arkon’s Slim-Grip Ultra spring-loaded universal holder and lighter socket mount with integrated power dongle. Connect your phone’s car charger (sold separately) to the 12V power dongle on the mount while your phone is mounted to the car’s accessory outlet or cigarette lighter socket. The smartphone or tablet is held securely in place with the spring-loaded holder, and can be inserted or removed from the mount with one hand. Included with the holder are 8 support legs (4 short and 4 long versions). The top and bottom adjustable-leg design of the Slim-Grip Ultra helps keep any side buttons and ports unobstructed. The recommended configuration for the iPhone 5S and 5C (installed vertically) as well as for the iPad mini (installed horizontally) is to have 2 short legs on the top of the holder and 2 of the long legs on the bottom of the holder. (You’ll have a full set of spares in case the originals get lost.) For phones with height larger than 5.25”, use the 4 long support legs for best performance. Fits all non-flip smartphones, even those with ruggedized or large protective cases or skins. Loosen the wing nuts to adjust the mount up to a 90° angle, and tilt the swivel ball adapter head 360° for ultimate flexibility in viewing the phone. Alternatively, Garmin GPS devices can be mounted to the car’s charging outlet or cigarette lighter socket when not being used as a smartphone mount by simply unscrewing the swivel ball adapter head and revealing the 17mm ball mount base.
