I. PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
Life is full of little choices. There is an old saying What is popular is not always right what is right is not always popular

We don’t always make the right choices nor do the right thing. Mistakes area normal part of living and to be expected. All people make mistakes it’s part of living. When we make a mistake, we gain more self-awareness and, hopefully, learn a life’s lesson. It’s true We can learn by our mistakes. What is more important, we can avoid some mistakes if we take the time to identify our personal values and ethics. In every profession there is a set of standards of conduct that governs the relationship of a member with his colleagues in the profession, with his clients and with the public or community.
ETHICS - the science of moral duty or the rules of right living.
- Describes the way in which we look at and understand life in terms of good and bad or right or wrong.
- Derived from Greek word ethikos and ethos, meaning custom, usage, or character.
- Pertains to right and wrong in conduct.
- Study of the principles of morality including both the science of the good and the nature of right.
- Science of the ideal human character and the ideal ends of human action. Note Men classify themselves on the basis of their calling or profession, thus engineer with engineers, doctor with doctors, lawyer with lawyers. As they group themselves into an association, they develop a norm of conduct governing their multi-facet relationship.
Definition of Ethics
- The practical science of the morality of human actions.
- The scientific inquiry into the principles of morality.
- The science of human acts with reference to right and wrong.
- The study of the human conduct from the standpoint of morality.
- The study of the rectitude of human conduct.
- The science which lays down the principles of right living.
- The practical science that guides us in our actions that we may live rightly and well.
- The normative and practical, based on reason, which studies human conduct and provides norm for its natural integrity and honesty.
- The investigation of life. - Are beliefs regarding right and wrong behavior. - Moral principles that govern a person's or group's behavior.

Science – systematic study or a system of scientific conclusions clearly demonstrated, derived from clearly established principles and duly coordinated. Morality – the quality of right or wrong inhuman acts.
