VIRGIN ATLANTIC TO OFFER OVER 3,500 EXTRA ORLANDO SEATS FROM GLASGOW AIRPORT NEXT SUMMER

Virgin Atlantic has announced it is increasing capacity from Glasgow to Orlando by offering a third weekly service in 2015.

To meet high demand for travel to the Sunshine State from Scotland, Sir Richard Branson’s airline will add an additional 3,500 departure seats on the route from Glasgow to Orlando over June, July, September and October.

Joe Thompson, Director of Network and Alliances at Virgin Atlantic said: “We’ve seen our Glasgow to Orlando service go from strength to strength since we started the route in 2007. We added 14,000 seats to this service between 2013 and 2014 and are excited to be able to help meet customer demand by increasing capacity even further for 2015.”

Francois Bourienne, Glasgow Airport’s Commercial Director, said: “This is fantastic news for Scottish travellers looking to get away to America’s sunshine state next summer. It demonstrates the popularity of the Orlando service which has grown every year since it launched at Glasgow Airport in 2007.

“We are very proud to have a strong brand such as Virgin Atlantic operating from Glasgow Airport. Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of the airline announcing a new route to Las Vegas – the entertainment capital of the world – in July, and adds further strength to our portfolio of long-haul routes.”

Over the course of the season, there will be an additional eight return flights to Florida, with four of these in the busy summer holiday period. The extra flights will be on a Boeing 747-400, configured with 14 Upper Class seats, 66 Premium Economy seats and 375 seats in Economy. The service will be operating on a Sunday to complement the existing flights on Fridays and Saturdays and seats can be booked from today.

Earlier this year Virgin Atlantic announced it was increasing its flying schedule from Glasgow with a new service to Las Vegas In September and October 2015. Seats for this service will be on sale from 10th October.

Orlando schedule information:
The existing service on Friday and Saturday will operate between 3rd April and 24th October 2015. Additional weekly return flights between Glasgow and Orlando will be operating on Sundays on 28/6/15, 5/7/15, 12/7/15, 19/7/15, 13/9/15, 20/9/15, 27/9/15 and 4/10/15.
On Saturdays and Sundays Flight VS071 will depart Glasgow at 1005 and will land in Orlando at 1340. Flight VS072 will depart Orlando at 1625 and arrive in Glasgow at 0515 the following morning. On Fridays flight VS071 will depart Glasgow at 1205 and will land in Orlando 1540. Flight VS072 will depart Orlando at 1825 and arrive in Glasgow at 0715 the following morning.
Las Vegas schedule information:

Flight VS163 will depart Glasgow at 10.00 and land in Las Vegas at 11.55. It will be operating on 10/9/15, 17/9/15, 24/9/15 and 1/10/15.

The VS164 will depart Las Vegas at 14.25 and land in Glasgow at 07.55 the following morning. It will be operating on 17/9/15, 24/9/15, 1/10/15 and 8/10/15.
