Narrator: Welcome to this short demonstration of the Nook Android app on a
Google Nexus phone running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The Nook app has a number of features that are useful for someone with low vision.
Some of these are:
When we go into the library of books, I can go into the menu and from View options I can choose to have a large grid which makes all the covers of the books that much larger and therefore easier to see.
When I go into a book, I can again press the menu button and choose a font size. Notice that the font size was the only option I had there, but if I go back into the menu and "All settings", this is because I have "Publisher Defaults" turned on. That is on by default; having turned that off, not only do I get things like the page theme - where I can change the colour to white on black, for instance - but I can now also go back into the font options and not only can I choose my font size, but I can choose a different font. I happen to like Sans Serif.
There are some other options further down the line such as margins, line spacing and justification which can be changed as well.
Those are just some of the settings you can change that you might find quite useful in order to make reading books in the Nook Android app easier. Thank you.
