Rules: The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS); the prescriptions of U.S. Sailing Rules, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions shall be in effect. In case of conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
Eligibility: All participants must be age 17 or under or in the 2014 high school class. All ages as of August 4th, 2014
Classes: Laser Radial, Club 420 Optimists: White (Age 10 & under) Blue (Ages 11 & 12) Red (Ages 13-15) & Green (1st year sailors age 15 and under)
Format: The Junior Sweepstakes Regatta consists of 4 days of races: 2 days (August 4th & 5th) sailed at SSYC on the Shrewsbury River (the South River Regatta), followed by 2 days (August 6th & 7th) sailed at MBC on the Navesink River (the North River Regatta). The South and North Regattas will each consist of 5 races: 3 on the first day and 2 on the second day – conditions permitting. The Race Committee may alter the format at their discretion. Participants may sail in only the South or North Regattas, but are encouraged to join in the fun for all 4 days!
Awards: Awards will be presented for the South River Regatta, the North River Regatta and also for the overall Sweepstakes. Awards shall be for the skipper and crew of the top five places in each fleet (top three places if less than ten boats in a fleet). Participation awards may be presented to all participants who do not receive another award. All participants will also receive a terrific custom designed T-shirt!

Registration Forms: Registration forms & fees must be turned into the Junior Program representative at the participant’s club by August 1, 2010. Late registrations will be accepted on-site on August 4th at SSYC and August 6th at MBC, subject to the late registration fee of $10 and availability. Sailing Instruction: will be available at SSYC and MBC as well as on-line at the above addresses.
Food and Beverages: Lunch will be provided to PARTICIPANTS ONLY at SSYC on Mon. & Tues. and at MBC on Wed. & Thurs. There will be no breakfast served so make sure your child eats prior to arrival. LUNCH IS FOR PARTICIPANTS ONLY. Family members and spectators should pack a lunch. SSYC is remote, in Oceanport. MBC is close to restaurants in Red Bank. To be eco-friendly, we will not be purchasing or providing bottled water. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR GREEN INITIATIVE AND SEND SAILORS WITH THEIR OWN HYDRATION BOTTLES. Hydration bottles can be refilled at the clubs.
