WT/L/948 - - NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH 3(C) OF THE GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE 1994 Communication from the United States The following communication, dated 10 December 2014, is being circulated at the request of the Delegation of the United States.
Pursuant to paragraph 3(c) of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994 ("GATT 1994"), and referring to the notification dated 20 December 1994 by the United States of measures covered by the exemption provided in paragraph 3(a) of the GATT 1994, the United States hereby provides the attached summary statistical table on actual and expected deliveries of relevant vessels. The information provided in the table distinguishes fishing vessels and non-fishing vessels. The latter category includes merchant vessels, tugs, and supply vessels. The United States is providing additional information on the use, sale, lease, or repair of relevant vessels. As in past years, please find enclosed a detailed listing of vessels (100 gross tons and above) delivered and expected to be delivered (ordered) during the period 2009 through 2013. This information includes the vessel name, vessel type, gross tonnage, builder, and owner of record. Also enclosed is further detailed information for vessels (100 gross tons and above) delivered and expected to be delivered (ordered) in 2013, including vessel name, vessel type, builder, owner, and operator. The United States is also supplying detailed information on merchant vessels built from 1994-2013 (100 gross tons and above), including current status, vessel name, vessel type, builder, current manager, registered owner, operator, and current parent. Finally, the United States is providing information relating to US employment in the shipbuilding and repair industries during the period 2001 through the first three months of 2014. These tables reflect the best information currently available. As underlying data may be periodically revised or corrected, the information contained in this submission is subject to change.
